A Russian Scientist speaking, once made the following statement regarding the universe:

“Either the universe was created or the universe was not created.”

I thought, “Wow, that’s brilliant.”

And then he said, “Both prospects are frightening.”

You see, if evolution is true, then we are just star dust, with no purpose, value or eternal worth, spinning around the sun at roughly 66,000 miles per hour, and no one is in charge.

If however, the Biblical account of creation is true, then that means that there is a God and that He owns His creation.

The Bible says that in the last days, scoffers will arise who, walking after their own lusts, will be willingly ignorant about two things.

The first thing the scoffers with be willingly ignorant of is that God created the world:

For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water

The reason that scoffers are willingly ignorant about the creation is because if they admit the world was created, that means that there is a God. And if God does exist, He owns this place, and there might be some rules to follow. We don’t want that, however. We do not want a God to rule over us, so we suppress the truth in unrighteousness of the God we know exists. (Romans 1:18-20)

The second thing Scripture states is that the scoffers would be willingly ignorant of is the worldwide flood in the day’s of Noah:

Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

Men do not want to believe in a Creator, because they would have to be accountable to Him. But they really do not like the worldwide Noahic Flood, because that means that God has a right to judge his creation. He’s done it before by water and He will do it again in the future by fire. Therefore, as I write about all things under and including the sun, that point to a young earth, universe and catastrophic worldwide flood on earth, they scoff in rejection as they demonstrate their willful ignorance.

walking after their own lusts

The Bible does not say “The brilliant scientist has said in his mind, “There is no God.”

The Bible says that “The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” (Psalm 14:1 – emphasis mine)

The decision to walk after our own lusts or to serve the Lord is made in the heart.

In the words of Sir Julian Huxley, “I suppose the reason we leaped at The Origin of Species was because the idea of God interfered with our sexual mores.”
